The 3ds is still beating the ps4 by a healthy amount weekly. When will this change? The most obvious choice would be when the ps4 comes out in Japan.

Thoughts?

I cant believe you didnt come up with the most obvious answer: when the PS4 stops having supply issues and readily available in stores in the west.

I notice some people saying this. While true in November and December I had no problem finding ps4s in stores in Janurary.  Looking at the sales in America and Xboxone I highly doubt there under shipping that badly in janurary.

You must be shopping on another planet then. As that's not how most people are experiencing it.

Take a look here to see the difference between PS4 stock and the Xbone's;

Nowinstock is really only good at tracking online stores. I remember someone quoting me the same back when the wiiu was released.

So the PS4 demand will plummet like wii u demand? Lol. The Wii U was readily available some weeks after it launched. So much so that it took Nintendo a whole year of bad shipments to retail because the retail wasn't through their original stock, in Europe even resulting to negative shipments as some retailers sent stock back to Nintendo because it wasnt selling.

The PS4 is still in crazy demand, it will take a long while until it becomes readily available, it gets sold out literally minutes after its back in stock on Amazon.
