Did you play the 1st Manhunt? I don't think you should actually group these together. I don't remember sneaking up behind someone, getting them to their knees with a machete chop into his lungs, then proceding to "whack" off his head with a seemingly dull blade(took three chops) all while the guy is still wheezing and blood is being sprayed onto a snuff film style camera angle, then tucking the severed head into my belt to later be hurled at the enemy in order to terrify them in any FPS I've ever played, starting with Wolf3d.exe on up to F.E.A.R. Did I miss it? Yes, I'm sure some of the market is cross-over, but many players of a game like Red Steel would likely turned off by the beautifully gratuitous gore of Manhunt. I'll at least rent the PS2 version |
Yeah, those games are nothing alike. 1st person sword fighting and shooting is a lot different than sneaking up on people in 3rd person. It's also more like a survival horror...
