Literally millions of kids got introduced to Mario Kart, so there are millions of potential buyers for the Wii U one. I don't expect a miracle coming from Mario Kart U nor anything like that, but I do expect the game to give a bigger boost than Double Dash made for the GC.

But the kids still have Mario Kart Wii, and they might have MK7 on the 3DS. Why would parents shed 300€ for another Mario Kart? One of the problems WiiU faces is that casual gamers don't feel the need to upgrade (they might even not be gaming anymore). It will be no different for MK8.

But people still have CoD MW 2, and MW 3, and Black Ops II, so why would they get another one?

Those guys are core gamers (meaning that gaming is an important activity/budget), not casual gamers.
