Great analysis! The part that I quoted goes exactly in line with what I'm always saying: That fanboyism is a great example of what psychologists call cognitive dissonance. That by the way perfectly explains why the "fanboy wars" are currently mainly between Xbox and Playstation fans, and not so much Nintendo fans: Because Xbox and Playstation are very similar, while the Wii/WiiU rather was/is the odd one out.
