Is Ico the most frustrating game you have played?

I didn't find Ico frustrating at all, really. I actually found escorting Yorda around and protecting her from evil to be one of the more emotionally powerful and interesting features of the game.

Really, if you removed the "escort mission" from the game it would lose its identity. The relationship between Ico and Yorda IS the game.
