Not that I know of. There were various SKUs over the lifetime of the Master System and Mega Drive, including different designs for the consoles themselves. So the systems could be bought with or without bundled games.

In the case of Sonic it's easy to verify that it wasn't bundled with all Mega Drives, because Sonic first appeared in a game in 1991, that's three years after the Japanese launch of the console.

Owww I see... haven't linked launch of Sony so long after Mega Drive releases, because it took a long time to be released here... started with Altered Beast bundle, but Sonic came a little after.

We still have Mega Drive and Master System available here.
