It is always sad to see such an old developer struggling :/

They are as old as Rare....

I have to buy more games from smaller European publishers  !

kind of off topic, but was the ZX Spectrum mainstream in the UK ? I know that Rare was one of the heavy supporters before they switched to the NES.

ZX Spectrum was pretty much the machine that kick started the UK games industry it actually sold over 5 million units which for an 80s machine with a limited release globally is pretty impressive (given the market was much smaller then too and there were a lot more rivals). Most of the UK veterans started with games on Spectrum or it's rival, the Amstrad CPC 464 they were what made home computers/gaming affordable to a wider audience. This was also a time when pretty much every game was "indie" coded in a bedroom by an enthusiast or two initially as a hobby rather than as a career.

I guess that's why I'm much happier with indie games than a lot of people as to me, it's just how gaming used to be.

Anyway getting back on topic. I'd get the Vita version to help improve the chances of more Vita development from Square-Enix and then just get a Vita TV :P though it looks like both versions would make a good purchase if you could stomach it as the games support cross save don't they? Meaning you can play on PS3 whilst at home, then if you want to carry on later away from home you can transfer the save to the Vita.
