OP there is nothing wrong with cha, dont try to be funny if you're not, there are many ways to be an interesting person, who says you need to be funny in order to be interesting? lol. So many people try to be something they're not because they want to fit in with a certain audience. If those people dont like you for what you are, you're hanging out with the wrong people.
Seriously, so many people force themselves to be something they are not, they are not true to themselves. The people either accept you for what you are or tell them to GTFO.
