It's an unfortunate setup for many of them, because even if you go pro, you're not going to really be "set for life" unless you're good with investing your money (and if you're not academically gifted enough for college, that is unlikely to be the case), so unless you are really a superstar, you're going to need an education when that oh-so-short NFL career runs out (more leeway for NBA or MLB, longer careers and all)
