Sony needs marketshare on smartphone devices and microsoft needs marketshare on smartphone os market.
Both really need to engage aggressive and innovative, and the last year has shown that both companies succeed in at least increasing their market shares.
A sony phone with Windows is just another option. They could make an aggressive product because sony patents plus ms patents, and if they sign a good contract costs would be low.
Would be a wise move imho.
