Just in case anybody is curious how the games stacked up in previous years. I only did the top 20 of each year because I'm lazy. :/ Give me a break, no way I could compete with the awesomeness that is Smeags. :D 

This is really interesting.

A lot of these games have remained remarkably consistent while others are all over the place.

Based on its trajectory, I think Super Metroid could crack the top 10 next year.
