You have to take into account the stock limitations. The holidays may be over but not all holiday purchases are done yet. As long as demand is not met Sony will easily sell holiday levels aka sales as high as production. The new non-holiday orders will stack on top of that and will prolong it This could be over mid January or it could drag into febuary und march.
However Sony will not be catching up to Nintendo soon because they simply cannot produce that fast. 5+ weeks is more realistic.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
