After playing the 2D release that just came out on Xbox Live few months ago one has to wonder if these guys are just trolling Castlevania or absolutely don't get it.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but if not hope it bombs hardcore and Konami gives it to another dev team.

They've been doing a better job with the Castlevania franchise than IGA has for the past few games.  Castlevania Judgment and Harmony of Despair are garbage, while Curse of Darkness is sort of meh, has some good ideas to its gameplay, and Order of Ecclesia is so so.

As a Castlevania fan myself, my original opinion of Mercury Steam getting it is how much they destroyed the Castlevania timeline, but when I finally gave it a chance, decided to take it as a reboot, a completely different series, it is a different take on the series, and they in no way attempt to make the series their own.  Them also adding Lords of Shadow to each title in the series they want to point out that it's in a different timeline.

Lords of Shadow is my favorite PS3 game right behind Infamous 2.  Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate is a great game mixing classic style, Lords of Shadow combat, and exploration style very well into one game.  It's a bit easy, but get 100% of the items /scrollsand replay the game on hardcore difficulty to make the checkpoints less forgiving with decent difficulty. 

Opinion only, but with only two games, and a third I'm getting on day one, or atleast however long it takes Amazon to ship it to me, Mercury Steam is the newest to dev to be added to my list of favorites.  So while I have no interest in an unannounced game, I'll atleast wait and see until it's announced before I brush it off.

I agree with Kupo. I dont think the series needs to return to IGA because personally, I think he has run out of idea's. It does need to return to somebody in Japan though.
