Despite the PS4 being a runaway success, I am sure EA is laughing all the way to the bank, as Microsoft probably paid close to $200 to EA for all of their exclusivity deals (Plants vs Zombies, FIFA, etc). I also think Vince is pissed, since he probably makes a royalty based on the number of copies sold. From his tweets, he seemed to be surprised that EA made it a Microsoft exclusive. This means less copies sold, and less money for him. EA better share or I can see Respawn leaving. |
Microsoft paid $50 million for DLC for the world's most popular game at a time when they were not a power in gaming.
When this deal was made (and even now) Microsoft is a leading power in video games, the title is a new IP, the PS4 hadn't launched and there is no offline mode.
If they paid anything like $50 million (letalone more) I'd be surprised.
