49 Days is a K-drama. I thought it was good, too. It's a real tear-jerker, though. It does bog down a little bit, like a lot of other K-dramas, but it finishes very strong.
That's also my biggest complaint about many K-dramas, the way a lot of them start spinning in circles mid-way through. You can tell they've trying to extend things by running over the same old ground and it just dissolves into pure melo-drama. I quit watching so many K-dramas that started out very well simply because they slipped into a rut around the half-way point. J-dramas are usually much more concise and keep moving forward.
I remember being absolutely in love with Ice Adonis/Yellow Boots; the actors were good, the plot was well-crafted, and the twist was epic. It was like 50 episodes, though. Even though the first 20 episodes blazed by, it ran out of steam after about 30 and it seemed like nothing would happen for entire episodes. I would like to know what happened, because it really was very well written, but I can only stand so much of the bad girl almost having her secrets discovered, only to be saved at the last second by coincidence.
I also liked Personal Taste. It did well at staying fresh throughout.
