Prediction: the next Sony & Microsoft Consoles, will be called the PS5 & Xbox TWO. I'm calling it.

As for the names, It's too early to decide if there even will be traditional home consoles next generation. It could just be apps in our TVs.

At your second paragraph, then what would stop PlayStation & Xbox from going purely 3rd Party in the form of Apps on TVs & PCs & Phones & Tablets?

They also said that about PS360. Supports ends a few years after the new consoles are already out.

Well a lot of things could stop that. Other consumer hardware not potent enough, emerging new players in those markets that would make it difficult, consumers not being ready to commit to digital. Sony and MS may already be thinking about the next generation but they don't even know what exactly will work in 6-7 years. The entertainment industry is still in rapid progress from the whole smart devices boom.
