Ahh, but they didn't use the word "buy". They used the word "rent". Think PS+ games here. If you pay yet ANOTHER subscription, you can probably keep the games. If you don't, you'll probably pay $4.99, and it will only be yours to play for a limited amount of time. You're not "buying" anything. This whole service should be a part of PS+ and the fact that it isn't is just pure BS. I am not a fanboy, of any company anymore. I know the Sony fanboys are eating this up with a spoon, but the fact is, while it's a really nice feature tech wise....it's a total middle finger as far as cost. No one should put up with this kind of business practice and the fact that people DO, only makes things worse. |
So the instant game collection with PS+ that basically gives you a butt load of games for the price of a single new release each year isn't enough? Sony never said game streaming would be included in PS+. It actually seems pretty obvious that it would cost extra. They are actually separate services. I could see PS+ perhaps offering one streaming title per month, maybe, but certainly not the full service. Of course if you run out of room on your HDD you can always cancel your PS+ sub and just do streaming.
What would piss me off is if Play Now is behind the PS+ pay wall, but that's not likely because you can have Play Now without owning a single playstation device. So this will be like Netflix on PS3/4. It's a separate service that isn't behind the PS+ paywall, and you can subscribe to one or other or both at will.
