My only argument for Marijuana is that discerning aduts should be able to put whatever they want to in their bodies. Sure, there are consequences but we should be dealing with THOSE consequences. Not everyone who smokes marijuana is necessarily lazy and unproductive (though it IS an appropriate stereotyoe for the average pot smoker) and therefore we should not be blanketly making all users of marijuana into criminals. Also there are some legitimate reasons for marijuana and drug use in medicine.
As a person who detests drug use outside of the occasional drink of alcohol I simply cannot advocate that we have laws that turn drug users into criminals. That said there are far reaching ramifications and unintended consequences that will stem from the types of policies that allow for adults to poison their bodies and we need to be careful to not be pressured into society at large being forced to support and pay for those consequences.
