I find people who fear marijuana the most, understand it the least. They don't know the facts, research, studies, and history(yet still try to comment on it anyway, why not read a little before you open your ignorant trap). Marijuana for the most part hasn't been an arrest-able offence in Canada for a long time, our society is fine, productivity is unaffected, and I don't see everybody in my country " do nothing in life,but live for that high."

Some interesting facts about Marijuana; it wasn't considered harmful, dangerous, or "wrong" till 1937, before than it was one of the most important crops in America and vital for America's industrialization, it was used in many American products before 1937; household, medicinal, and industrial products, etc., Benjamin Franklin open the first paper mill using marijuana.

The reasons why it was criminalized were based on incredibly racist lies and myths, the man who was head of the criminalizing campaign Harry J. Anslinger, was an extremely out-spoken racist. This man's words are the reason why Marijuana is still considered evil, harmful or bad today.

“Marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes.”
“…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.”
“Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”
“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”

These are all on record too, google them if you like. Also newspapers wrote editorials such as ; “Marihuana influences Negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white men’s shadows and look at a white woman twice.” "Marijuana makes coloreds go crazy and kill everyone around them".

These were some of the reasons why Marijuana was made illegal. It was the same story in Canada, marijuana was a threat to white women and children except this time from Chinese(ugh Canada, really?). I honestly can't believe anybody today would think these reasons are legitimate or could possibly stand behind them or think this man did a good thing. The entire laws are made on nothing but lies, there was no science nor research. We seem to think the laws and criminalization of Marijuana came from enlightened and intelligent minds, they didn't. People were generally morons in the 1930's and they bought into all this hook, line, and sinker. This is a culture where black people were segregated, had no civil rights, gays had no rights, etc. We're still letting this trash and this moronic man affect our society and culture today.
