hardcore exercisers buy the expensive gym equipment or having gym memberships
casual exercisers buy an ab king pro here and a thighmaster there...many of those pieces of equipment costing 500+ when they came out and were so popular
also, it doesn't matter sales-wise if people don't use wii fit, just if they buy it
however, i fully believe it will have a higher % of people using it 1 year later than products like ab row king and thighmaster as it is a VIRTUAL TRAINER that provides MOTIVATION...the other products give u no motivation other than internal motivation
gyms: motivated by fact that you are paying for it
personal trainer: motivated by the trainer to workout
workout partner: motivated by the partner to workout
wii fit: motivated by the progress it shows you and the training/routine it gives you
ab lounger/thighmaster/treadmill/stationary bike/etc: no motivation other than yourself; equipment is a sunk cost
