I got a PS2 for a surprise Christmas gift one year and played a few games for it (a couple exclusives and the rest multi-plat), but didn't fall in love with it. Very similar to my own story. I was an original Sega fan. After Sega dropped out of the console business I got a Gamecube, which mostly failed to impress me. Then I played Halo at a church lock-in and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic at a friend's house, both on the Xbox, I was blown away and asked for an Xbox for my birthday. Been with Xbox ever since, I like their 1st party lineup more than Sony and Nintendo and I prefer the Xbox controller.

It seems like a lot of people switched from Dreamcast to XBox. I had a friend who did that too.
