The Wii U and Ouya are similar consoles, one tries to capture the tablet audience while the other tries to capture the mobile audience.
Games
Wii U fans say graphics don't matter to them and I believe them. Ouya obviously has worse graphics but it doesn't matter to most people so we will talk about price and gameplay. Wii U has a strong first party lineup and a really weak third party lineup. The Ouya has a nice combination of both and you could arguably say the Ouya has a stronger third party lineup because a lot of popular mobile games are being put on the Ouya. Ouya has amazing titles like "The Amazing Frog?", "You Don't Know Jack", and many mobile games. The Ouya can also play all older Nintendo games through emulation which the Wii U cannot currently do. Old Nintendo/Playstation/Atari games are better on Ouya then let's say playing a game on N64 because you can run the game at a better performance and save at any point, no more saving at designated checkpoints. Ouya games are typically $1-$5. Ouya wins in the games department.
Controller
The Wii U has a chunky tablet with a screen in the middle to game on while the Ouya has a Xbox-360 styled controller with a touchpad in the middle. Ouya also supports Xbox 360/PS3 controllers so Ouya wins in this department too.
Hardware
Wii U is a lot more powerful but Wii U fans don't care about graphics at all so we will talk about how it looks and plays. Wii U looks very similar to the Wii. The Ouya is a much smaller cube shape that is 1/3 the price of the Wii U. Overall the Wii U has superior hardware but for its price, the Ouya is the better buy.
Multiplayer
The Ouya has superior split screen miltiplayer than the Wii U. The Wii U gamepad really restricts players to having a good time with the family. Online multiplayer works very similar for both consoles, each one doesn't utilize it very well though Ouya has more of a sense of having a profile than the Wii U.
overall
The Ouya is cheaper, has the ability to play better games, and has a better controller than the Wii U. Please note I have an Ouya and I've played many titles on it including majoras mask, it is much better on the Ouya than the N64, Wii, or PC.
