You're probably right.  

Someone thought that they'd just put up the picture for the day instead of a few days in advance with the date. 

Like for Halloween, they'd put up a Halloween themed picture on the day of, rather than a few days in advance.  

I'm not sure what they do though.  

No, because you want people to buy the console in advance for the day, much like if you put an ad for Xmas, you won't put it on 25/12, you'll put it days in advance so people buy your product to give as present on xmas
