^the lag with 10 people but I read they got up to 40 people. This is obviously a stress test they were doing.

Again, 10 people. It can barely handle 10 people. How do people not see how completely ridiculous that is? At this point a stress test should be a couple thousand of people, not 40.

The bugs are bad enough (corrupt your data?) but the fact that something that is basically an MMO freaks the hell out when you have 40 people is insane. Hell, the PS2 can hadnle FFXI and there are often times when there are 100 people at the Auction House.

And yes, this is the beta but bugs as big as any of the bugs shouldn't be there. There are major freezing issues, major display issues, major login issues, and the fact it can't even function at the basic level (have all your friends logged in) is pretty terrifying. So before you tell me "lol it's the beta" just look at something like the Halo 3 beta. That's what a beta is supposed to run like, maybe a little worse but still at least run.

Lag may have been because of bad bandwidth. I'm not sure who they got this information from so I don't know if it was common or just one person. I will say this for certain though. The corrupt data is most likely the cause of it freezing in the middle of a save. Which yes because it was unstable the data got corrupt by a crash. The bug itself didn't corrupt it. I hope that makes sense. What I don't understand is why they are having problems. Sony has EQ, EQ2, and that starwars game. It's not like they don't have experience in this. And yes a stress test can be considered with 40 people. The thousands of members on would be checking the servers. I think this is a zone stess test. (see how many people can be in one area)

The bugs didn't stopped there. Funny thing over @ the PlayStation forums they were calling this beta alpha state build because beta's are at least suppose to work.

Looks like it's not just one person.

And I'm sure the corrupt data is due to freezing but that doesn't change the fact it's a huge problem (but still not as bad as the amount of people on at once).

How long has this been in development?  Quite a while.  Many games before have this have been able to have much more than 40 in a zone and it's just sad that this game can't  Since this is supposed to be a big social tool, I would think they would allow more than 40 people in one area at once.  Especially in the bigger areas.

There is absolutely no pretty to this article.  Home has been in development for a pretty good while and they are still having huge troubles.  If it's been in development this long and they still haven't gotten some of the basics working, I wonder how long it will actually take them to get it right?
