Ok now could you please name ONE game of the PS3/360 launch that wouldn't be possible on the previous gen with downscaled graphics? Because I don't remember one.
And I do see some little improvements that wouldn't be possible on last gen: Drivatars on Forza, BF4 isn't just downgraded on PS3 vs PS4, it's a worse game with restricted MP. Another games like Fifa already run on a superior engine than on last gen.
Of course the graphical jump might not be as noticeble than last gen from SD to HD, but I do think we're on the right path.
