The writer seems to have taken issue with the comparisons of 3D World's first week/month to other Mario games as well as Knack outselling it first week in the UK. None of his points really counter these things though.
People were saying the same thing that Mario games have legs, but it was being compared to other Mario games. They all had legs. Week 51 for Galaxy in Japan was almost 40% higher than 3D World. 3D Land was more than double. They had also come out a few weeks earlier in November, so the disparity in lifetime sales is even greater.
As for the UK/Knack, it has outsold 3D World for four out of the five weeks since their launches. Apparently the only answer he has to that is to insult Chart-Track for not releasing numbers, and suggest that the UK market is actually insignificant.
He also brings up eshop sales, but ignores the US (oh but the NPD doesn't release numbers anymore, so the US market must be insignificant.) where we know both retail and digital sales for November. I guess he couldn't think of a way to spin those numbers.
