You may haven't posted exact figures, but you gave info that could be used to estimate sellings, that is if people tought you numbers to be creditible

Inventory? that is a time consuming and gruling task. Target does it on a yearly basis and hires an outside group. Managers would be more likely to be in charge of inventory if they do it on any regular basis and i can only see that being possible with a retailer only concerned with video games such as gamestop. Even then i'm not sure if a manager would be able to know how much was sold but only how much he should have. 

Just puting one alternative, I don't work in retail so I wouldn't know all the methods a employee could count sales done. But surely this is a time consuming job any way we imagine it.
