They will work independently on OLED (god knows why) and 4k.

 

OLED/4k is beautiful. OLED plus 4k res might push people to upgrade from their 1080p LED TV's.

So whats wrong with persuing the tech? Unless you were talking about the companies then wateva. But the tech is good.

OLED is just too expensive.  LG are the leaders in this and their 1080p is more expensive than the equivalent sized 4k tv.

Sony even got rid of the OLED that was in the Vita, which was made by samsung I believe
