Remember the 900mi Microsoft lost with the first Surface? Production is based on contracting and managing a vast third party suply chain and workers. They are long term contracts, usualy 3 or 4 quarters. You can´t contract new ones every time you think your forcast is low, nor can fire/cancel if it´s too high. |
Where do you get that figure from? I believe the PS4 will sell around 3.5 to 3.7 by the end of this year. Taking my lower estimation, that leaves 1.5 million (if Sony aren't underestimating sales by the fiscal year) or 2.5 million if I'm right and they HAVE underestimated the figure (and it sells 6 million). January won't be great but it won't be terrible either. february will get a decent boost because of the Japanese launch, and the release of Driveclub which will be bundled. And in February Infamous: Second Son releases which is the game lots of people are holding off buying a PS4 for.
