Hmm...

It's a hard question as nowadays most studios try to mix different genres into their games, like Borderlands and Mass Effect with the mix of action and RPG.

With that said, I'd say

1-Adventure/Action games. Games that make you explore the world you are in. Metroid, Batman, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, etc.

2-Strategy games. Either real time ones like Age Of Empires, or turn based ones like Civilization or Advance Wars. I like them because trying to defeat your enemy is always a challenge and most of the time, every new play is different from the old one.

3-Driving games. Again, either arcade or sims. Because it's the only chance to drive at that speed, in those tracks and with those cars that we'll ever have .

4-Platforming. Although nowadays it could be called just playing Super Mario Bros, as there aren't many more platformers anymore .

5-Management. Games like Sim City, Zoo Tycoon, Theme Park, etc. I don't know why, but I like those kind of games, being the ruler of what's going on and deciding what's done and what not... maybe it's because of that that I like them XD.

Special mention, RPGs: games like The Witcher, Mass Effect, Xenoblade, etc. are always fun to play.
