Whatever people want to tell themselves, Forza 5 is (with all its flaws) the best looking racer on consoles right now.

Polyphone has a lot of work to do on their engine and car modeling to top this. I'm hoping they won't use past gen models for their PS4 title.

Indeed. GT6 feels like an expansion, I hope the real effort is going into in GT7.

I'm sure they'll use the premium models from PS3 games in GT7. But its time to put PS2 models to rest.

Even though I agree that Forza 5 is the best looking racer right now, I don't agree with people downplaying GT6's merits.

Your argument could backfire and we could say that other than for the visuals, Forza 5 feels like a dumbed down version of Forza 4. Or that Forza 4 is just an expension of Forza 3...

GT6 is a complete game. It's part of a franchise, just like Forza 5. So similarities between titles are expected. GT6 is a much more polished game than GT5 was, and it will only get better from here. Just like Forza 5 will.

As for the car models, updating the models from the PS3 versions of the games is ok. Although I'm hoping they'll improve them more than with just a little upscaling... They need to at least reach Forza 5's level of fidelity all around.

The thing that Forza has always been better than GT, to me, is when it comes to the backgrounds. I think GT games look more photorealistic than Forza games. But Forza has more details in the little things in the backgroud. It takes less shortcuts, if I may. But the overall feel looks a little too bright and saturated and fails to catch that photorealistic feel that GT has with its more accurate color palette and lighting.
