I don't know why some people say that, it had amazing melee combat, crafting, scavenging and top notch 3rd person shooting. I have never played a game with as good melee combat as TLOU.

       It is just my opinion. I  don't think the 3rd person shooting was THAT amazing.

What was wrong with the shooting mechanics? 

Every gun felt real and every bullet had a punch to it. The only thing that annoyed me were armoured bullet sponges.
