It's a port, but it's a port of a very popular game, and its sequel, in Japan. Persona 4 sold 200,000 its first week and Final Fantasy is a more popular series, even in Japan.
In comparison. Final Fantasy 4 DS sold 300,000 in its first week, Final Fantasy 3 DS sold 500,000 its first week,SMT Strange Journey sold 96,000 its first week, Persona 3 Portable sold 104,000 its first week.Shin Megami Tensei 4 sold 140,000 its first week.
I think Final Fantasy 10 on the Vita will sell more than Persona 4 the Golden did week one. Not a better game in my opinion, just a more popular game in a more popular franchise.
I'm going to say 400,000 on the Vita, 200,000 on the PS3. Only because Japan likes their portables better.
