If they want patents, there are tons of other companoes that would be cheaper and honestly.

If anyone was going to buy sony to gut it down to it's profitable parts it'd be a "bain capital" type company or just some individual investors.

A good point, but if a company is incapable of righting the ship, what then?  I mean, if there are no alternatives but to make serious sacrifices here, then what?

As I said though, I certainly hope that Sony fixes it's situation, I would not want to see anyone come along and scoop it up.

If sony has to do it... that's different.  You take a negative hit (and they have been) but it's not nearly as sevre.

A company buying and gutting them though?
