#10: Resident Evil 4 (GC, Wii)
Resident Evil 4 is a true tour-de-force. It managed to revitalize the series without sacrificing its roots. A few minutes into the game, you suddenly realize this ain't no Raccoon City zombies you're up against. The plaga infected villagers are aggresive, mobile and won't let a simple door stop them from getting to you. The whole game is fast-paced, adrenaline pumping, pulse pounding but doesn't lose its fear factor. Enemies like Dr. Salvador (the chainsaw wielding maniac), the sneaky insects populating the sewers or the creepy as hell regenators provide plenty of "Oh shit!" moments.
Resident Evil 4 also has perfect pacing, each section is just long enough so you don't get tired of it, enemies also vary a lot as you progress through the game. The boss fights are all great, even Ramon Salazar who I usually one-shot with the rocket launcher. The dialogue can be corny at times but it's all part of the Reisdent Evil charm. Truly a game to be played and replayed.
