It is ridiculous.
Some of the international pricing for consoles and games really have me scratching my head at times, but hey; that's up to the bean counters at their respective corporations to decide how limited they want to make the market for their products in a given region.
But for $2000, even as someone who games on console by default and prefers to use consoles for gaming, I would build a great gaming PC without a second thought instead. In that price range, I'd be pretty happy with what I could build. Of course I'm thinking in terms of the type of build I'd be able to put together based upon US prices for components, which I understand are also lower than in many other regions of the world.
I'd still be missing out on the console exclusives, which were among my most played over the past 6-7 years though. No amount of money thrown into a PC would change that. Of course, I'd never throw that kind of money into a console just so I could play those titles.
