Hummmm interesting... http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/ryse-son-of-rome I think if you can't play the game like I did then you can just read... the complain about the gameplay/combat is just a ilusion created by everybody that played the game and it is not a biased fan. |
Trouble is who cares.
Luckily not me. It was an immensly enjoyable experience. Its like games like Heavy Rain or Beyond 2 Souls. These games dont have particularly engaging mechanics. If any real mechanics at all. Its about the cinemtaic experience. Thats why I loved Ryse. The combat works, it flows and the executions add a level or realisitc animation that makes it feel even more cinematic.
Alot of my friends didnt buy the game because of reviews. Luckily after playing at my house they realised they really enjoyed it. And a few of them have bought the game now. IMO the reviews cannot give other cinemtaic games with poor gameplay elements good scores and Ryse not I wont name them here, but other acclaimed games I never bothered to finish as they were nowhere near as good as the reviews said they were. IMO as an experience ( which I believe is what Ryse is meant to be ) Ryse is a really good game.
There is no right and no wrong. And majority reviews mean nothing to any of us. Noone. If that were the case 10 million people who buy GT over Forza are all wrong?
If you dont like cinemtaic games you wont like Ryse. That after putting 70+ hours into the game I think is quite obvious to me. I doesnt have the strongest story, but the way its told is very good indeed.
