The PS4 being more powerful (GPU and RAM bandwidth) is only one of the reasons people say it's the better console choice this gen. The other two reasons are $100 lower price point and Sony's history of 1st party game studios being more successful/prolific that MS 1st party studios. Add that all up and the PS4 is logically the better choice if someone is only going to buy a single console this gen.
