Ive been to two differnet Best Buy's this holiday season and saw the MS banners, but had a bit of a different experience than you have.
Both have been pushing the Next Gen Bundles like crazy (even the guys at the front door asking if you were coming into buy a system).
In the first store I had 3 associates ask me if I was shopping for a new Console (I was in the PC and Movie sections).
In the second store I had 4 associates ask me if I was shopping for a new Console (the guy at the door and 3 others). Was in the Movie section and gaming section. The guy at the door and one other tried to push the Xbox One BB Bundle on me, while the other 2 talked about their great deals on "Next Gen Bundled".
They might be trying to push the bundle more than anything. To get people to pidge on hole themselves into buying exclusively from Best Buy (Im a member and love it).
