This happened during the early PS2/DC/Xbox/GC days and then it happened again during the early PS3/Wii and 360 days. When I was in elementary school, the Genesis and SNES waged holy war on playgrounds all across the world, including mine.

Agree or disagree as to the pettiness of it all, but it is what it is. Console wars will rage on.

I was in 8th grade when the SNES/Genesis wars were going on, we had to talk sh*t at school face-to-face, I was on the SNES side, got to brag about getting Street Fighter 2 first, Zelda, Metroid, and Mario Kart.  Genesis kids were bragging about Mortal Kombat having blood and the real fatalities, it was good times!  And even though we'd laugh at each other for owning the "other system", we still played games together.
