If we both go to new egg and buy the same i7 CPU, neither one of us has a "better" CPU. We bought the same exact model. But one of us could overclock it to allow it to run slightly faster... and hotter and potentially break faster, etc. |
Of course they're different. One is overclocked and thus performs better than the other. They are the same model, yes, but with different capabilities. They are, literally, not identical - one runs at a higher clock frequency with probably different voltage consumption. Don't need weird newegg analogies to tell us that. And as long as the overclock is stable, one can definitely be considered 'better' than the other.
