13. Zelda: Ocarina of Time (11 last year), first impression 8, replay 10, technical 8.5
Pros: The game holds itself up timelessly because its innovations towards 3D combat (basically inventing lock-on and strafing for home consoles) have become so foundational to 3D action or adventure games that they are taken for granted these days. Add in a heaping dose of Zelda charm with winning characters and varied dungeons and a decent number of sidequests and bonuses, and you have a winner.
Cons: It started the precipitous difficulty decline in Zelda games, a slide which would continue for over a decade until Skyward Sword made a turnaround.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
