In what world does the Wii U not have any trouble in Japan? Seriously the console has a couple decent weeks and people start imagining things, you do remember that there have been weeks where only about 3k Wii Us were sold in Japan this year, right?

Perhaps you've missed the repeated word I've used in this discussion: "now". The Wii U has been holding at a strong sales number in Japan since the price cut and release of the Wii Party U bundle - indeed, its worst week, the week of the 16th of November, it sold 15k. It has now been above 15k every week for 7 weeks, including weeks where no significant game was released. And the momentum has been building - last week, it sold just under 75k. For comparison, the PS3 sold under 24k, and that was with multiple new PS3 games released... and that was a slight decrease from the previous week, while the Wii U saw an increase of over 50% over the previous week with no new titles.

Tell me - at what point do we stop using data from October to comment on the status of the Wii U now? If the Wii U were to sell 200k units next week in Japan, would you still point to "that week when it sold 3k" to prove that the Wii U is struggling in Japan?
