"When solicited for comment on this story, a Microsoft representative asked, "What is 'FGCNN'?", before hanging up the phone. Double Helix was not asked to comment on this story. FGCNN has not been able to research the validity of any of these "DRM" claims, as FGCNN staff skipped over purchasing an XBox One to instead purchase a low-end $400 Gateway computer, as performance was better."

yeah, very credible and trustworthy source with a professional approach. Jesus their first line of the article blows any credibility out of the water. The paragraph above is a pathetic.

Troll article. The thread? no comment.

It really happened(6:20 or so):

2 things here.

1. It makes no sense, that from launch this message would appear. It is not a disc based game and yet has a disc based message. This is not happening today. It could be a pre launch video not uploaded till recently. etc. etc. There is no DRM on KI. I know many play it and have played it without connecting to the internet for over 2 weeks.

2. It happened after the match finished. Which actually if DRM is the future doing it outside of gameplay is the best idea.

My guess? This is old footage only uploaded recently. Old footage of when DRM was in the Xbox One hardware OS ( Which it looks to be the case in the video ).

Its now changed to publisher based. So the DRM message would not be connected or tied to a message from the OS. Rather like it is in NBA 2K14. The message is in the game menus instead.

EDIT:

It did actually happen. And its now come to light that the PS3/360 had this as well with Download titles. Its sparodic. Not every 24 hours. And WILL not and as you can see in the video DID not happen during gameplay.

/thread.
