Just cause people arent willing to be ripped off on ebay in large numbers, doesnt mean there isnt demand.

False. Wii remained $350 to $500 on eBay for well over a year.

eBay is a great indicator of product demand.

The higher it is selling on eBay the greater the demand. Its just that simple.

Once an item is selling at or below its retail price (assuming no crazy brand new sale price went into effect), then you can assume supply has met demand. But that doesn't mean supply is not insanely high and thus sales are not still high, it literally just means supply has met demand.

Xbone started selling for less than $500 on eBay a while back. You can relatively easily find it in stock if you call around. (In Best Buy just yesterday to pick up my Mario3D/Zelda combo from the sale they had and while there were 50+ 360s, ~20 PS3s, ~15 Xbones, 5 Wii Us and 0 PS4/3DS)

PS4 is hitting that mark now as well. By January you'll have PS4 in stock same as Xbone now.

What can be pulled from this mirrors presale info and other retailer info.

PS4 is clearly outselling everyone else in terms of console launch (except Wii) and has easily the best demand right now.

Wii had no substitute. If you wanted a Wii experience your only choice is getting Wii. PS4 has a substitute that's called an Xbone, and comes with a camera too. Even if the OP was right, it wouldn't have proved anything.
