These two consoles have been criticised a little over a year now for having great games but not games that has been able to push them out of their slump. The good news is the Vita got Tearaway, Killzone Mercenery, and a Price cut this year. The bad news is they don't look like they are helping it a ton and I seemed to have been wrong this year with my 4m a year average prediction with the Vita to where it looks like it'll miss the mark by about 1 million.
The WiiU on the other hand already has the upper hand on it's main competitors in the Xbox One and PS4 with pricing. Unfortunately Nintendo didn't take advantage of the year headstart. The good news is it had a handful of good games like Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros U, and the newest and biggest Mario 3D World. WiiU has certainly been doing better in the last few months but not compared to past holidays either. This could largely be attributed to the insanely popular 3DS (Which I believe to be the biggest competitor for WiiU), PS4, and XBO.
When it comes down to it the Vita and WiiU share a common one common thing with one another. They are both criticized for the lack of games. Me owning both the WiiU and Vita i can tell you that I am personally happy with my Vita and WiiU. More so with my Vita but the WiiU has a brighter future at the moment in my opinion. So with this thread I want to ask insteadd of criticizing these consoles lets try and see if we can come up with some ideas to push the Vita and WiiU to get 3rd parties to support them more.
My list
PlayStation Vita
The Last Guardian
Even though I can see this type of game working better on a home console I think it has the right niche fanbase. One part of me feels that these people would be pissed that they have to buy the Vita but I think a pretty good percentage of those people would buy a Vita for it.
Stop Making C Tier Games for PS3
Come on Sony, wth is up with you putting every Ratchet & Clank game on PS3 and not PSV. Into the NExus would have been a great title for the Vita you shits -_- Oh and how about Puppeteer. Make a Jak game for the Vita, a sly cooper game, etc These games fit handhelds better than home consoles. And lets be honest they are selling for shit on PS3 anyways.
Get a Monster Hunter game
I could care less about this franchise but it is a huge success in Japan and Im sure it would push people to buy a Vita.
Demon's Souls
This one is not my idea but I loved it as soon as I heard ssenkahdavic say it. Sony owns the rights to Demon's Souls and while I think it would be pretty useless having both Dark Souls and Demon's Souls on PS3 as they aren't really that much different, Demon's SOuls would actually fit in with the Vita a lot since it is more linear. Could be a big system seller as well as the DS fanbase are some of the most hardcore fanbases out there.
Grand Theft Auto
I don't really believe I need to point out how popular GTA is now do I?
Ni No Kuni/Legend of Dragoon
Both are great Jrpg games which fits better on handhelds anyways. While Sony doesn't own the rights to Ni No Kuni they do own Legend of Dragoon. Handhelds are more popular in japan anyways so it makes perfect since supporting it with a Jrpg game. Plus why doesn't sony make Japanese type games more often?
WiiU
Kid Icarus
Kid Icarus proved with the 3DS that it can be a spectacular game. The thing is, it feels like it would better fit in with the Console market rather than using your touch screen to aim.
New Mascot Ip
In my opinion one of Nintendo's biggest flaws is fatuigue and them relying too much on Mario. Mario is popular and we all know that but there is a thing as too much mario. make a new engaging game that isn't Mii related. Make a new mascot and take the world by surprise. This may be the thing that piques people's interest.
Metroid
We've been screaming it now you listen Nintendo >.<
Anyways, let's think of some ideas guys :)
