All I'm saying is that I find it annoying it is when "journalist" say the Wii U is doing terrible, when the PS3 was doing much financially worse in 2007 than the Wii U is right now. They always act like Wii U will never have a turn around, yet when PS3 was a year old, they said Sony was doomed because of the PS3. 6 years later the PS3 has 80 million units sold and they almost never mention that the PS3 was doing bad. |
The problem is not that Nintendo has been losing money. They've actually been profiting because they play it smart and sell cheap hardware whilst making quality games. Problem is when Sony entered the market when it comes to a solid consumer-base Nintendo has lost of Sony everytime. The Wii was a special case so seeing that that marketshare is not coming back they are back to square one with Sony. Thank god Microsoft is there to stand in Sony's way. Again, its a stable marketshare problem not a profit problem.

You forgot about the handhelds. Sony's handhelds are the closest any competitor has gotten to taking over Nintendo in the handheld market, yet PSP is over 70 million behind DS, and 3DS's install base is over 6 times higher than Vita's.
What I'm saying is: Sony dominates with consoles, and Nintendo is the god of the (gamimg) handheld market.
