 Youtube pre-purchase was bleeding money no-stop. This whole content ID thing did not start with this videogame channels getting videos claimed. It all started with the music videos being uploaded without any permission. The music industry forced google to sign a contract and create VEVO, some other music labels have thier own systems though. People are reacting like if this is googles' doing, but their position is simple. Keep those video game channels and getting sued, or claiming everything they can to avoid getting sued? It makes sense right?

 

Completely behind you on that, but there's no defending all this Google+ shit. NO, I DON'T WANT TO JOIN GOOGLE+. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE MY REAL NAME APPEAR IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. I DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU MY CELL NUMBER. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO OPEN A NEW TAB TO VIEW A COMMENT SOMEONE REPLIED TO. I DON'T WANT YOU COLLECTING DATA ON MY BROWSING HABITS SO YOU CAN PUT THE SAME DAMN WATCH RECOMMENDATIONS ON EVERY SINGLE VIDEO I CLICK.

The last part is what's most annoying. Recommendations as "more like this" was exactly perfect, why they decided to make it into "stuff you've watched in general" I have no idea. Once I watched a right-wing political video (once!) just to see the disagreeable things they were saying, and they kept recommending Romney crap on my feed for the rest of 2012. Madness.
