Nono... i opened it up in the past (it was a model 2000) cause there was something off with the analog stick. It was a PSP i got used and the dumbass of the previous owner tried to pull the analog out and the spring around it came loose, making the analog feels like its stuck. In my noobness i thought i'd oil it up a bit. What i ended up was with still a very stuck analog stick and a screen with oil stains.
After that i opened it up. I fixed the analog stick (where i found out what the problem really was) and i opened up the screen layers to clean up the oil stain on the screen for the most part. But the oil i put it weted a component that connects the left shift and the up and left buttons to the PSP. There was nothing i could do about that. What happened is that because the connecting "wire" (its a copper connection really and not a physical wire) beeing weted, and i believe it was already in very bad shape, the left shift, up and left buttons would temporarely get locked even though i stopped pressing them for a while. This made action/driving games unplayable. I only kept RPG's for it and got a Vita instead.
Recently with some fan translations coming out and the discovery of a certain Cfw utility, i just decided to trade in some games and finally get a new one so i can play whatever i want. I got a 3000 model this time, used aswell. But this time it was in great condition and even brought a case and a 4GB memory card for free. The power source seems bonkers though, so its a good one i have the one from the PSP 2000, wich works perfectly.
It was quite the learning journey, but now i got a pretty PSP 3000 (its black, the 2000 was silver). I dont think the software would solve the problem i had with the PSP2000, as it was a hardware problem.
