They have to have full control over everything or else they will sue. Now you tell me why anyone would even start to try getting an app out on the vita which is borderline illegal and hurtful to both companies involved? |
First, let's hear this out : Everything is possible and for all i know of it, we don't need much sony approuval. I think Sony has already been as disrespectful of Vita consumers as they can, we own them nothing. In fact, they own us, vita consumers, the handheld its deserve to become. We need more Tearaway, more KZ Mercenary stuff coming, and we don't need third party for that, but Sony seem to have removed this kind of team for Vita support... For now, no one care about Vita, but if some hackers did, a Kernel would have been found already and Sony would been screwed. Then no more third party support ? Wouhou, there's already none good studios developping on it, so who care ? The only point that keep the vita as it is now regarding kernel and hack is its "poor" sales.
And yeah, that's the whole point about this DS emulator, it raise a lot of question and problems.
- The vita being this close is hurting more than the lacks of third party support.
- Smartphone competition.
- Why Sony doesn't bring android to vita since they're doing it on xperia ? ( don't care about the reasons, in fact that's just stupid regardless)
- Nintendo current console emulator on actual Sony or Microsoft devices could push Nintendo to go third party for the good of everyone (except Nintendo little boys).
- We don't care about Sony approuval since they just shit on us, vita owners.
- Everyone need to realise, Sony and Microsoft pretty much do everything they want to do in the video market, they're financial powerhouse, many dozen billions dollars worth companies. They don't care about Nintendo approuval or anything, they could shit on it for days.
For your first point : Yeah, why no bring android on Ps Vita then ? We all know the ps vita is kind of screwed by the smartphone being its rivals. That would cost nothing to Sony and it will clear one big problem the Ps Vita have (two in fact, if you count the smartphone competition), and that problem is the console being so closed to consumers.
Everyone and their mother know how good android is. Sony know it too since it's on their Xperia. At first I thought Sony would slowly release some dedicated vita apps as good as twitter vita, or skype vita, but it's not the case. Where's tumblr vita, Fifa app vita and all those site we all use ? Where's the improvement on youtube and skype vita (not being able to send text sucks) ? They have not been released a usefull apps for month now.
For you second point : Who care about Nintendo situation regarding a DS emulator app ? LOL, no one care. Sony don't care too. You really think Nintendo could sue Sony ? Lol. Nintendo is always seen as a big company but it's not, a legal fight with Sony would end up ruining Nintendo. They have a small amount of free cash and no debt, wouhou. Sony is worth 32 billion dollars, 32 BILLION DOLLARS. It's one of the japanese biggest company, they could fight legaly for years and years. All of that for a DS emulator apps release in the ps store ? People, really ? Just no.
Plus, that won't even hurt Nintendo, and even if it could we still don't care. Vita is superior to 3DS period (and everyone know here how i'm the most critical about the vita here), every 3DS best games could be played on vita. The contrary is utterly false. Even if, in the worst case huh, a 3DS emulator appear on vita and it hurt 3DS a lot, we don't care, because that's good for everyone. Except for Nintendo, and we don't care about them, at worst they will just go third party, wich a lot of gamers (except Nintendo hardos cocky fanboys) ask for.
